Are you ready to lead a high-octane team working within the medical device industry? Join us as we are seeking an enthusiastic manager to spearhead our R&D Lab Management Department. As the manager, you will dive headfirst into the exciting world of research and development, supporting multiple projects with tight timelines and complex prototype system configurations. Your leadership will be instrumental in guiding our team in supporting the software and hardware development, system testing, compliance testing, and providing essential support in the field. This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As an R&D Lab Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Reporting on the quality, maturity, and progress of products/documentation content as the Test Lead role.
  • Monitoring the status of planned tasks within the team and ensuring actual results are on track, while resolving dynamic challenges and conflicts.

· Lead and drive the strategic planning and management of our lab infrastructure and complex fleet of prototype mix, ensuring alignment with our constantly evolving product roadmap, and install base.

· Manage a team of multi-location engineers providing direction through work assignments, coaching sessions, and conducting performance reviews.

· Develop and grow team members to take on key roles within the SAFe work environment. Empower the team by coaching and guiding them to grasp the framework's principles, values, and practices effectively.

· Lead the Program Increment (PI) Planning throughout the year within the Agile Release Train (ART) to align to a shared vision, discuss features, plan the roadmap, and identify cross-team dependencies for the R&D Lab management team.

· Coordinate with project management the desired PET & SPECT system configurations needed in the R&D Labs to support the projects. This includes the timing of system installations, de-installations, and configuration modifications for all R&D Labs to meet the project needs.

· Drive both short-term and long-term prototype planning activities for both project system needs and R&D Lab improvements.

· Coordinate all hardware changes with R&D Labs. This includes repairs, updates and/or changes to PET & SPECT systems.

· Point of contact for any hardware changes needed or required in the R&D Labs.

· Audit and track all HW/SW changes to systems for proper DHR (Device History Records) updates.

· Ordering system parts for repairs and/or preventative maintenance of our PET & SPECT systems in the R&D Labs.

· Develop and track R&D Lab yearly budgets; supply regular status updates to finance and management.

· Drive and implement lab infrastructure improvements including 6S methods to help maintain productivity and safety in the workplace.

· Manage coordination of offsite warehouse storage and transportation of R&D systems and material.

· Participate in the EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) (Environment, Health, and Safety) committee team meetings to make our workplace safer.

· A strong candidate will have project management experience with Agile methodology breaking work into phases with emphasis on continuous collaboration and improvement.

· Must have ability with standard software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SAP, databases).

· Must have experience with graphics presentation software such as Microsoft PowerPoint.

· Have experience with or ability to learn system electrical and mechanical drawings.

· Must have knowledge of data management principles or ability to learn.

· Ability to handle fluctuating priorities and deadlines.

· Must be organized and responsible with ability to pay close attention to details.

· Strong interpersonal skills and proven leadership abilities.

· Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Required skills to have for the success of this role

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical, mechanical, biomedical engineering, nuclear medicine, and/or equivalent combination of experience and training.

· Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Agile certification is a plus.

· 10+ years of progressively responsible experience required.

· Travel requirement: 20%
