MILabs BV is a young biotechnology company located in the Netherlands. The company develops and markets small-animal imaging systems for preclinical biological and pharmaceutical research. MILabs was founded by Prof. Freek Beekman, who designed the first U-SPECT, a micro-SPECT-system with ultra-high resolution. Images made with this system were chosen as “Animal Image of the Year” by the American Society of Nuclear Medicine in 2004. Since then there have been scores of new developments which furthered the need for bringing these products professionally to the market. The company’s first commercial breakthrough came in 2007, and since then it is showing very rapid growth.
MILabs' mission is to help biotechnological and biopharmaceutical teams to do world-class preclinical and medical research. It does so by designing and bringing to market forefront sysems, software and services aimed at significantly reducing research cost and accelerating development of new tracers and pharmaceuticals.
